Cameras are Fun

Let’s talk about cameras ... my favorite subject. I’ve been fortunate enough to have been an avid photographer for decades, starting with film and then making an early transition to digital. I have used various brands: Canon, Nikon, Sony, Panasonic, Minolta, Fujifilm, Ricoh and Leica. Each brand was fun to use and some I have stayed with for a long time. I bought, sold and gave away many and now I have settled in with Sony, Nikon and Leica. One big change with all brands today is how photo-video hybrid camera have taken over a large percentage of the professional and enthusiast market. Social media, for example, has made video very popular. I’m happy with my present photo kit. BUT, I keep looking for the next best thing that might make me enjoy my hobby more. It’s fun to look but impossible to justify changing. I doubt there ever will be a camera to come along that can improve on what I now use, no matter the cost and capability. What I have to keep reminding myself is that I just need to use what I have often enough to remain familiar with the functioning of each. But, it’s OK to look elsewhere just for fun.
